She also took courses to become a Visual Artist Specialist which allowed her to teach art at the elementary level. Her paintings are inspired by the ordinary things/events in everyday life and by the places she has travelled. She has participated in juried and non-juried shows and has had several solo shows. She has also presented workshops for Nippissing University, York Region Board of Education, and OSEA. She has been privileged to receive awards for her acrylic, oil, and watercolour paintings. She received the "Emerging Artist Award" from Artfest on Main in Newmarket, Ontario.
